In The Making

Irish Design 2015 is celebrating and promoting all that is great about Irish design and designers through a series of events and activities across the island of Ireland.

In The Making is an exhibition that is running until 17th March 2015 at the Coach House, Dublin Castle. We got the chance to drop by recently and really enjoyed the journey of discovery the exhibition took us on. The exhibition is a study into the lesser-known moments in the production of everyday objects - amongst a range of items we saw a MacBook Pro paused at 20% of production, Nike football boots paused at 10%, Slazenger tennis balls paused at 50% and €50 bank notes paused at 50% of production.

Seeing everyday objects interrupted mid-production certainly intrigues and makes you reconsider things that you take for granted on a daily basis. From a design perspective, it underlines the importance of the designer understanding the production process for which they are designing. At Impact, we like to think that because we have a detailed understanding and experience of various printing processes, we’ll deliver the most effective design solution for your printed materials.
