Lets Take It To The (Paper) Bridge…

Now we love paper. We never fail to be impressed by new swatches – full of amazing colours, textures and roller defying weights. We believe that it’s the best medium and trumps its digital competitors.

So even us paper loyalists were blown away by Steve Messam’s latest installation. Messam is an environmental artist and in his latest project, he used 22,000 sheets of SRA1 paper to create a free standing arch in the Lake District. The bridge is apparently rock solid (ahem) and when it rains, it actually strengthens the bridge as the paper fibres swell and compress further.

While we’ll not be able to quite match Paperbridge for sheer scale and ambition, we like to think that we can do some pretty amazing things with paper and ink and we’d love to work on any challenge you can throw at us.
