Work Hard & Be Nice To People

Kemistry Gallery in London has championed graphic design for over 10 years, but recently had to shut its door due to a hike in rent for its premises. They subsequently launched a Kickstarter campaign to open the UK’s first centre for graphic design and as part of their fundraising activities published a book called 100 Years of Graphic Design which covers all the great graphic designers of the last century as well as more contemporary graphic artists including Anthony Burrill, who is renowned for his typographic text-based compositions including “Work Hard & Be Nice To People”.

A common theme is that the message is key but the medium is hugely important in communicating effectively and that great graphic design needs the best print production and craft possible to communicate effectively.
