Nowadays we are keen to welcome visitors from all over the world to the Causeway Coast. However, it wasn’t always thus. From WWI through to the end of the Cold War, the Causeway Coast has been a strategically important stretch of Europe’s North Atlantic coastline, which meant it needed to be defended from enemy attack.
Impact was briefed to develop an artwork design that would showcase the fantastic landscape, geology and biodiversity of the Causeway Coast and help the reader understand how it was connected to German U-Boat attacks, WW2 pillboxes and Cold War nuclear bunkers. The comic book style was chosen to reflect the era and the full colour specification ensures that the reader is fully engaged with the interesting content.
This booklet has certainly made us think about how lucky we are to have our coastline survive decades of being on a war footing.
