Print Production \ Special Finishing \ Publishing
Ines Lawlor is a Senior Occupational Therapist who has been working with children with learning, sensory, emotional and behavioural difficulties for over 10 years. She approached Impact because she had developed a resource to help therapists, teachers, parents and children better understand Sensory Processing. Max and Me tells the story of a child’s first day at school as a way of explaining how sensory information is processed using the analogy of a “modulator” – Max.
Impact were delighted to be involved with such an interesting project. Ines had developed the content and illustrations in a workbook format and needed advice on the best format for production of the title as well as help with self-publishing. The book was printed on 170gsm offset paper as it is a book that children are encouraged to draw on and colour in and we agreed that a matt laminate finish on our 300gsm offset cover would suit our young target audience best. We examined a range of quantities before opting for a cost effective amount for a first print run and supplied an ISBN number and liaised with the UK copyright libraries on Ines’ behalf. We are sure that this wonderful resource will be a real success with the children that Ines works with on a daily basis.
